CHEAP THRILLS

How to make some easy, fun, and quick cheap thrills.

Fireballs

GAS FIREBALL
Drill a hole in the bottom section of the can and put in the BP. Put some gasoline in a plastic bag, zip-tie it closed, and cut of the excess. Make sure the bag isn't to thick like those freezer bags. Put that in the can; make it as close to the BP as possible. When you light the fuse the BP will ignite the gas, making an impressive fireball. Warning: The fireball described can easily start fires because flames fall to the ground all over where it was lit. As a result, it isn't that safe. I recommend a propane fireball, below.

PROPANE FIREBALL
Break off the match head, discard it, and put the wooden part in the balloon. Stretch the mouth of the balloon over the valve of the propane tank. Make sure it's all the way over the threaded part. Then push the match into the valve, letting the propane into the balloon. When it's big enough (you don't want it to pop!), take it off and tie it. Tape a piece of the toilet paper to it, light the toilet paper, and get away. You can't use a fuse because it needs a nice flame. This is significantly louder and easier than, but not as big as, the gas fireball. I generally prefer it to the gas fireball because it's safer.

NAPATHANE CHARGE
Drill a hole in the bottom part of the tube and glue a fuse into it with enough fuse sticking inside to ignite the BP. Fill 1/6th of it with BP. Then mix with a 50/50 mixture BP and naphthalene. Fill 1/3rd more of the tube with that. Then fill the rest with naphthalene. Light the fuse and get away. Fireball size varies with size of tube and how much naphthalene and BP are used. Makes a lot of black smoke.

Lighters

SUPER LIGHTER
Pull off the metal cover on the top of one of the lighters. Then turn the adjuster to the right as far as it will go. But when you move it back to the left, lift up on it so that the gear doesn't engage to turn the gas down. Do that a few times, maybe 5, and try it. It may take a few tries to get it lit, but once you get it you'll get a pretty impressive flame.

LIGHTER FIREBALL
Break or pry the metal cover off the top of one of the lighters. Turn the adjuster to the right until it won't go any farther. Then turn it back BUT make sure to lift the adjuster so that the gear doesn't catch and turn the flame back down. Keep doing that until the fuel is constantly leaking out and set it upside down against a curb or something (out side.) Use the other lighter to light it. The flame will crawl up the liter and will melt it. This will eventually make a hole in it and the flame will make it explode.

Pressure Bombs

DRY ICE BOMB
This is a good one for beginners because all of the materials are really easy to get, you can get dry ice at Wal-Mart for less then a buck! First fill the bottle 1/2 to 2/3 the way full. Then drop a few hunks of dry ice into it (watch out, dry ice is cold and will give you frost bite very quickly. Never hold it for more than about a second). Cap the bottle quickly and get away or throw it. The more water and the more dry ice that in the bottle, the faster and louder it will be when it explodes. The temperature of the water also affects how long it takes to explode.

BP IN A BOTTLE
Dump a few tablespoons of BP in a 1L bottle. Poke a hole in the top of that bottle. Tie a knot near the middle of about 5-8 inches of fuse and put that through the hole in the top. You want the knot to catch on the hole and have half of the fuse dangling in the bottle. When you light the fuse and it burns past the knot, it will drop into the BP. These are very easy and quick to make, fun, and loud. They fit very well as a cheap thrill.
